This was an interesting project. It was not meant to be a copy, but rather an artistic approach to create a unique guitar. It has a Spanish cedar neck, Ziricote fingerboard, and the body has pressed laminate maple tops, but no maple center block. The center block and rims are routed out of 1 part Spanish cedar and the block is cut off behind the tailpiece. So the insides are more acoustic than on a normal 335.
The sound was significantly more vibrant and wide range than the more solid sounding 335. A remarkable sound that captivates the player.
